Anyone has built a few Gunplas know that Tamiya sandpapers are the best for those kits. It can handle the job well. Make sure you use them in the order of 400-600-800-1000+ and then irrevocably 1600 or 2000. Use compound as well if you don't plan to paint them.

My Skarlock Thrall arrived and looked amazing. The only problems I had with the manufactured goods was having to bend the "ectoplasm" on the head cut to get it to line up with the mid section. Additionally, it was kinda hard to get the tail end of the ectoplasm to attach by the book.
